Play Loud Ukulele with Jake Shimabukuro!

Attention NorCal readers—and everyone else! :-) Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro is coming to town! (picture above courtesy of the Jake Shimabukuro Documentary FB Page)

The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival is scheduled for March 8-18, 2012! If you are in the area, head out on March 14 (Pi Day!!) to the premiere of filmmaker Tad Nakamura’s latest work: Jake Shimabukuro Documentary

Shimabukuro will be performing live at this event! I wish I could go… if any of you are able to check out this premiere, please report back and let us know how it is!

As a Hello Kitty fan, I grew up loving all things Japanese that are colorful, cute, and small. I watched a lot of Japanese TV when I was little and am very well versed with Japanese music be it modern, old school, or traditional. I have been playing taiko (Japanese drumming) for a little over ten years and have been playing tsugaru shamisen (a three-stringed lute) for a couple of years.
